Happy Heart Day
In honor of Valentine's Day, we made "Trees of Love" with the little kids last night. They glued paper hearts on a tree, and then they came over to see me to tell me all the things that they loved. Among the answers were:
Mommy, Daddy, my brother, my sister, Santa Claus, spaceships, spies, my home, potatoes, chairs, grandma and grandpa, hearts, candy, fire trucks, toy guns, and Jesus.... Well, at least they got it on a few of the answers!!!
On another note, CAL surprised me last night with Rock Band for the XBox. We decided we weren't going to do Valentine's Day this year, but he decided we needed a little bit of fun in our lives since we are staying home a lot more these days. And boy, is it fun! He belted out "Should I Stay or Should I Go" while I rocked out on the guitar, and then we switched and I sang "Creep" while he played guitar. Tonight we're breaking out the drum kit. I know, our lives are thrilling. We can't wait to have some friends over so we can have the full band!!
I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

Dark Circles Under Your Eyes?
Yes, you say? Well, then, RUN (don't walk) to your nearest MAC counter and tell them you want them to show you the Fast (or quick?) Response Eyecream mixed with concealer (can't remember the exact name right now). And then be prepared to be amazed and tell them you will take it without even knowing the cost.
I went to the MAC counter last Friday and left a new woman. I have always had dark circles under my eyes, but now they are just faint circles, and I am a happy girl! She put it on one eye and I was sold - hook, line, and sinker. I think my exact words were.."You are a miracle worker. I will take it - I don't care how much it costs."
So, just a beauty tip for all you ladies out there. MAC made a real winner on this one!

New Year (a little late)
Somehow, the whole "New Year" thing just passed right by me. I am normally a big "New Year's Resolution" kind of person. This year, however, I have abandoned that a little bit and instead have decided to focus on a word for the year...... I have seen lots of people doing this, and I think it's a great idea.
My word for the year is "believe." I have so many things that I want to accomplish in the coming year, and I really need to focus on believing in myself, my abilities, and my strength. I need to believe in what God has placed on my heart and run after it with all I've got.
So here are the things I want to accomplish by "believing" this coming year....
Getting healthy once and for all. Not just a cheap resolution to lose weight, but instead a commitment to believe in myself enough to know that I'm worth it. That my body truly is a temple, and that I do have what it takes to be a healthy person. And even more than just getting healthy is trying to believe things other than a stupid scale. For once, I am going to TRY to not get so caught up in what the scales say, but instead what my clothes say, what my confidence says, what my body tells me.
Really working toward launching my photography business.... This entails SO much. My school work, my business plan, my skills.... I must believe that I can do this. I must believe that my skills will grow and sharpen as time goes on. I will try not to constantly compare myself to other photographers, but instead compare myself to myself just 6 months ago.
Learning what to hold onto and what to let go of. Try to figure out what is really important, and what isn't. I have such a hard time with this. I am a very Type A, somewhat OCD personality. I feel I must please everyone all the time - including myself. It is time to believe in myself enough to know that I can be who I am without having to make everyone happy all the time.
I truly "BELIEVE" that 2008 is going to be a great year. I can't wait to watch it unfold.

Kids Are Funny
At church last night, I just had to laugh out loud at two of my kids... Here are the conversations:
Converation 1:
Me: Hey, H, what magazine have you got there?
H: Oh, yeah, look.... She is a hottie (referring to a picture of Hannah Montana)
Since when do 2nd graders refer to girls as hotties??
Conversation 2:
Me: So, C, what was your favorite Christmas present?
C: I got 4 boxes of cereal.
Me: You got four boxes of what?
C: Cereal. That was my favorite present! I got Lucky Charms and Honey Nut Cheerios. But I ate them all.
Don't you wish everyone could get that excited about 4 boxes of cereal?
I love Wednesday nights!
